If you're looking for a refined, well-built, full-sized sedan the 2010 Toyota Avalon is an excellent choice! Performance Toyota Scion of Kansas City offers the Toyota Avalon in two different models: XL, XLS and Limited. Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2010 Toyota Avalon is a full-size sedan available in XLS and Limited trim levels. Standard equipment includes automatic headlights, cruise control, full power accessories, dual-zone automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a power driver seat, a reclining rear seat and a nine-speaker stereo with bluetooth, MP3/WMA playback capability, XM Radio and a auxiliary audio jack as well as a USB port for an iPod. The XLS also comes equipped with 17-inch wheels, foglights, heated mirrors, a sunroof, leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped wheel and shift knob, auto-dimming driver and interior rearview mirrors, and wood trim. The Limited adds xenon headlights, a passenger-side auto-dimming mirror, automatic wipers, keyless ignition/entry, additional power driver seat adjustment, a power passenger seat, heated and ventilated front seats, driver memory functions, a power rear sunshade, Bluetooth and a 12-speaker JBL stereo upgrade.

The only available upgrade packages are the JBL soundsystem with a 6 disc in-dash CD Changer and 660W with 12 speakers including a subwoofer.  The voice activated navigation system with an integrated backup camera is the other upgrade package that is available on both the XLS and the Limited model.

Under the Hood
The Avalon's automatic transmission has a manual-shift provision. Toyota cites a zero to 60 mph time of 7.1 seconds, with an EPA-estimated gas mileage of 19/28 mpg city/highway.

  • Standard 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 with 248 pounds-feet of torque
  • Standard six-speed automatic transmission

Safety
Standard safety equipment on the 2010 Toyota Avalon includes antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver-side knee airbag.

In government crash tests, the Toyota Avalon earned a perfect five stars in all frontal- and side-impact categories. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the Avalon earned the top score of "Good" for its protection of occupants in frontal-offset and side-impact crashes.

Exterior
The Avalon's exterior sports a clean, upscale and - above all - conservative look. The rear has a two-level trunk design with smoked taillights. Neat features include available puddle lamps and turn signals embedded in the side mirrors - not on the housing.

  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Standard dual exhaust
  • Standard automatic headlamps
  • Standard power moonroof
  • Standard heated mirrors with auto-dimming driver's mirror
  • Standard integrated fog lamps
  • Optional rain-sensing wipers

Interior Design and Special Features
The front seats are wide and accommodating -- with the Limited, you also get heated and ventilated seats with a seat-cushion length adjuster. The rear seats are quite comfortable as well. Legroom is abundant even by full-size sedan standards, and the rear seats boast a manually reclining back that allows passengers to stretch out on long trips. A 6-footer can sit in back with more than enough knee- and headroom, and with a nearly flat floor, getting three into the backseat on carpool day is no problem.
